2020 Olympic gold medallist Gamal Yafai smashed Tommy Frank to defeat in one round in their flyweight bout on Saturday night at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, England.
Yafai scored a knockdown in the first 30 seconds and the fight was stopped at 1:40.
Yafai improved his record to 5-0; 4 and Frank’s record dropped 15-4-1; 3.
In a welterweight bout, Conah Walker (12-2-1; 4) smashed Cyrus Pattinson (6-1; 4) to defeat after dropping him three times, before Pattinson’s corner kept him on his stool after the eighth round.
Heavyweight Solomon Dacres (7-0; 2) outpointed Chris Thompson (12-5-1, 7) over 10 rounds.
SCOBY STOPS CARMONA IN SIX
Junior welterweight Kurt Scoby (13-0; 11) stopped the previously unbeaten Narciso Carmona (10–1; 6) in the sixth round on Friday night at the OTE Arena in Atlanta.
Super middleweight Shawn McCalman (14-0; 7) won on a unanimous eight-round points decision against Money Powell IV (13-2; 8).
Junior featherweight Lorenzo Parra (23-1; 17) won on an eight-round split decision against Javon Woodard (12-2; 10).
However, after the bout was scored a draw, per OTX rules, they fought an extra round, with Parra winning 86-85, 86-85, 85-86.
MCANN AND BALUTAENDS FIGHT ENDS IN A TECHNICAL DRAW
The junior featherweight fight between Dennis “The Menace” McCann (14-0-1; 8) and Ionut “Il Capo” Baluta (16-4-1; 3) ended in a technical draw after a ninth-round head clash on Friday night at the historic York Hall in London.
