South Africa’s Sivenathi “The Special One” Nontshinga (13-1, 10) regained the IBF light flyweight title in a rematch when he stopped Adrian “Gatito” Curiel (24-5-1, 5) in the tenth round on Friday night at the Auditorium Guelaguetza in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Both fighters came out at the bell in the first round and traded big punches in what became a slugfest.

In the ninth round, Nontshinga stunned Curiel with a big left hook, and he hurt him again in round ten to score a knockdown. The referee stepped in to wave the fight off, as the champion was in no condition to continue.

On the same card, former world champion, Mauricio Lara (26-3-2, 19) and Daniel Lugo (27-2-1) fought to a ten-round draw in a junior lightweight bout.
