Sandor Martin completely dominated and out-fought Jose Felix in a one-sided bout over ten rounds to claim the vacant WBA International junior welterweight title on Friday night at the Palau Olímpic Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain.
Martin (40-2; 13) won with scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91, as Felix’s record dropped to 39-6-1; 30.
On the undercard, junior bantamweight and 2016 Olympian Samuel Carmona (7-0; 4) outscored Joel Cordova (13-6-2; 3) over ten rounds in a hard-fought encounter.
The scores were 97-93, 96-93 and 96-94.
Light heavyweight Ricards Bolotniks (19-6-1; 8) won on a unanimous eight-round points decision over 2016 Olympian Hrvoje Sep (11-1; 8).
The scores were 78-75 twice and 77-75.
In a middleweight bout, Jhon Jader Obregon (10-0; 4) won on a unanimous eight-round points decision against Kyle Lomotey (10-1; 2). The scores were 80-71, 78-73 and 77-73. Lomotey was deducted a point in the fifth round.
Female junior featherweight champion Jorgelina Guanini (10-4-2; 1) outscored Stevi Levy (5-1; 0) over eight rounds in a non-title fight with scores of 80-73, 79-73 and 79-75.
BEAMON AND CARRILLO FIGHT TO A TECHNICAL DRAW
The bout for the vacant WBC Continental Americas junior bantamweight title between Dewayne Beamon (21-4-3; 15) and Pablo Carrillo (25-8-2; 17) on Saturday at the Coliseo Sugar Baby Rojas in Barranquilla, Colombia ended in a five-round technical draw.
After a closely-fought encounter the fight was ruled a technical draw when an unintentional head butt in round five left Carrillo with a deep gash on top of his head.
