The Hollywoodbets Dolphins clinched an impressive win over Six Gun Grill Western Province, while the North West Dragons were in charge of their match against the Gbets Rocks, in the CSA Division One 4-Day competition in Durban and Potchefstroom respectively on Tuesday.
The ITEC Knights and DP World Lions match is still to get under way in Bloemfontein after more rain washed out a third successive day.
PARSONS, DE SWART POWER DOLPHINS TO WIN OVER WP
A brilliant century from Bryce Parsons and a top half century from Ruan de Swardt powered the Hollywoodbets Dolphins to a superb eight-wicket win over Six Gun Grill Western Province’s in their CSA Division One 4-Day clash at Kingsmead on Tuesday.
In the final session of day three, Parsons and De Swardt took full control of what had been a back and forth match until that point, sharing in a match winning unbeaten 208-run partnership that propelled them to a surprisingly easy win in the end.
Parsons struck 134 off 277 balls, crashing 11 fours and two sixes, while De Swardt cracked 11 boundaries in his 89 off 177 balls.
Heading into the final session on day three, the Dolphins were on 160/2, still needing 113 to win, which wasn’t a done deal as was evident by the batting collapses seen earlier in the match.
However Parsons and De Swardt were imperious as they kept chipping away at the score before picking up the rate towards the end of the day as they cruised home in the end.
In the post lunch session the Dophins resumed on 65/1, with Keegan Petersen (6) edging behind to keeper Kyle Verreynne off the bowling of Tshepo Moreki without them adding to the score.
However that brought De Swardt in and along with Parsons they set about an unbeaten 95-run third wicket stand to put their side into a strong position at tea.
In the morning Western Province’s tail continued to wag as Kyle Simmonds (64) and Moreki (14no) extended their final wicket stand to 34-runs.
In total Western Province’s final two wickets managed to add 102 runs to their score, thanks largely to Simmonds who brought up a well-deserved half century shortly after play got back under way, with them eventually all out for 191, setting the Dolphins 273 to win.
The home sides chase then got off to a steady start as Parsons and Grant Roelofsen (24) shared 48 for the first wicket, before Simmonds struck, having Roelofsen caught by Zubayr Hamza, with Parsons and Petersen then negotiating the rest of the morning to lunch.
Earlier in the match Western Province were bowled all out for 210 batting first, before skittling the Dolphins for 129 in their first innings, making the final innings from the hosts all the more remarkable.

DRAGONS IN CHARGE OF RAIN-DISRUPTED MATCH AGAINST ROCKS
The North West Dragons were in full charge of their rain affected CSA Division One 4-Day clash against the Gbets Rocks at the close of play on day three, with the visitors in deep trouble on 92/7 in their second innings, holding a slender 57-run lead over the hosts at Senwes Park.
The first two days were affected by rain, with the Rocks all out for 234 in their first innings, followed by the Dragons replying with 269 all out shortly after lunch on day three.
The Rocks then slipped to 29/3 at tea, with wickets them continuing to fall in the days final session, before rain returned to chase the players from the field for an early end to the day.
Janneman Malan (25no) resumed after tea with Michael Copeland (14), but they were soon 38/4 when Renaldo Meyer bowled Copeland.
Clyde Fortuin (11) was trapped LBW by Delano Potgieter with the score 53/5, which became 75/6 and 87/7 as Bamanye Xenxe (13) was caught and bowled by Christopher Britz, and Achille Cloete (9) was caught off the bowling of Lesego Senokwane.
Shaun von Berg (5no) then joined Malan, who had watched his partners falling around them, and they will resume on day four hoping to give their bowlers a target to defend.
In the post lunch session the Dragons resumed their first innings on 236/7, with Shaylin Pilay (110) bringing up a superb century, before extending his eighth-wicket stand with Duan Jansen (18) to 27 runs.
Once Pilay fell, caught behind by keeper Fortuin off the bowling of Xenxe, the last two wickets didn’t take long as they fell to 269 all out, a lead of 35 over the Rocks first innings score, with Cloete, 3-29, and Xenxe, 3-54, were the pick of the bowlers for the Rocks.
The visitors' innings then got off to a disastrous start as Potgieter accounted for their top three batsmen, Pieter Malan (3), Isma-Eel Gafieldien (4) and Ruan Terblanche (6) to reduce them to 14/3.
Janneman Malan and Copeland had to do damage control and get them to the break without further trouble, which they managed to do.
In the morning session Pilay was in top form as he reached the break just one run shy of a deserved century, along with Jansen at the crease as they took a slender two run lead over the Rocks.
At the start of play the hosts resumed their first innings in a comfortable position on 149/2, but a quickfire three wickets threatened to derail their chase.
Britz was caught behind by keeper Fortuin and Heino Kuhn was trapped LBW, both off the bowling of Xenxe, while Potgieter also edged to the keeper off the bowling of Cloete, with all three out for ducks as they crashed to 150/5.
Pilay finally received some good support from Khanya Cotani (31) as they combined for a 77-run sixth wicket stand to steady the ship and get them close to the Rocks first innings total.
But another quick couple of wickets saw Cotani caught by Terblanche off Copeland and Juan James (1) caught and bowled by Janneman Malan, as they slipped to 230/7, before Pilay and Jansen eased them to the break.
NORTH WEST DRAGONS: Lesego Senokwane, Grant Mokoena, Shaylin Pillay, Christopher Britz, Heino Khun, Khanya Cotani, Delano Potgieter, Duan Jansen, Eldred Hawken, Renaldo Meyer, Juan James

Poor weather continued to frustrate the ITEC Knights and DP World Lions as their CSA Division One 4-Day clash as a third consecutive day was completely washed out on Tuesday.
The match is all set to end in a drab weather forced draw, unless any play is possible on Wednesday’s fourth day and both sides decide to have a couple of sporting declarations and play a shortened match.
The Lions are fourth on the four day table having picked up a win and a loss in their opening two games, while the Knights are second from bottom after a loss and a draw from their two so far.
