The North West Dragons produced a superb all-round performance to clinch a thumping eight wicket win over the Momentum Multiply Titans in their CSA One-Day Cup match at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday afternoon.

The Titans won the toss and chose to bat first and after a brilliant maiden list A century from Dewald Brevis, collapsed to 207 all out which proved to a well below part score as openers Meeka-Eel Prince and Lesego Senokwane struck half centuries to help their side cruise to an easy win.

Prince looked odds on for a century at a stage, striking 89 off 78 balls with 11 fours and three sixes, while Senokwane followed up his century over the past weekend with 52 off 47 balls (7x4, 2x6).

The Dragons' chase got off to the perfect start as Prince and Senokwane shared 115 for the first wicket, with both reaching their half centuries at better than a run-a-ball, before Senokwane was first to fall, pinned LBW by Titans allrounder Neil Brand at the start of the 16th over.

Prince and Raynard van Tonder (32 not out) then shared 57 for the second wicket before Brand struck again, having Prince stumped by keeper Rivaldo Moonsamy, with the score 172/2 in the 27th over.

Captain Wihan Lubbe (15 not out) joined Van Tonder and they eased their side home with an unbeaten stand of 36 to cruise over the line with a massive 19 overs to spare for a big win.

In the Titans' innings Brevis showed his vast array of shots on his way to a brilliant 100 off 78 balls, smashing 12 fours and four sixes along the way, which at that stage had put his side in a commanding position on 168/3 at the end of the 25th over.

However, his wicket sparked a disastrous collapse as they lost their last seven wickets for 40 runs to put the Dragons firmly in charge at the halfway point of the match.

BREVIS TON

The Titans' innings got off to a poor start as in the second over Brand (1) set off for a quick single, was sent back and was run out by some superb work by Hlompo Modimokoane to leave them on 7/1.

This brought Brevis to the crease and along with Matthew Kleinveldt, who was the only other batsman to put up a fight with 47 off 41 balls (6x4, 1x6), they set about a positive 69-run second-wicket partnership.

Kleinveldt was the aggressor, striking nicely around the wicket, but having brought himself in range of what would have been a well-deserved half century he was bowled by Migael Pretorius to leave them on 76/2.

Brevis then took centre stage as he absolutely dominated two partnerships, of 38 runs with Moonsamy (5) and 54 with Sibs Makhanya (8), as he powered to an impressive hundred.

But the turning point came just after Brevis brought up his century in the 25th over by hitting Ruan de Swardt for a two, six and a single to reach the mark.

In the next over Kurwin Murwin Mungroo had Brevis caught by Duan Jansen at mid-on and bowled new man Donovan Ferreira for a double wicket maiden, reducing the Titans to 168/5.

Three more wickets fell in quick succession with the Titans in deep trouble on 189/8 having lost five wickets for 21 runs in just seven overs.

Dayaan Galiem (15) and Aaron Phangiso (13) made sure that the Titans would get over the 200 run mark before they were the last two wickets to fall.

All the Dragons bowlers pitched in and got a wicket, with Mungroo, 2-33, Pretorius, 2-35, and Senuran Muthusamy, 2-46, the main contributors.
