Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson and Royal AM veteran Dominguez have been named in the Mozambique squad to face Rwanda on Sunday as they look for a win that will boost their chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast in January.

Mozambique have four points in Group L, marginally ahead of Benin and Rwanda, as they chase the remaining qualifying slot in the pool.

Senegal, who beat Mozambique home and away in the last set of qualifiers in March, have already secured top place and booked their berth at the finals, where they will be defending their title.

The DStv Premiership pair are joined by Kambala, the tough-tackling midfielder who was previously at Baroka but is now playing in the National First Division for Magesi.

Winger Telinho, who was on the books at Ajax Cape Town in the 2013-14 season, is also in the squad.

German-born David Malembane, who won his only previous cap in October 2021 against Cameroon, returns to the squad, selected by coach Chiquinho Conde.

There are also four Portuguese based players in the squad.
