Emma Lamb scored her maiden international hundred as England Women put in a convincing performance to beat South Africa by five wickets in the opening Royal London International at Northampton.

Chasing South Africa's total of 218, Lamb put on 78 with Sophia Dunkley (22) - in a new role at No 3 in the order - and 89 with Nat Sciver (55) on her way to her first three-figure score.

Earlier Katherine Brunt had marked her return to action with a peerless spell of 9-1-18-3, while Sciver - who now averages 372 with the bat across her last three England innings - took 4-59.

It puts England 4-2 up in the multi-format series. The second Royal London International takes places in Bristol on Friday.
