The fourth and final day of the 2022 Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s T20 Super League (WSL) was brought to an abrupt end by persistent rain over the Six Gun Grill Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

The only action possible on Friday saw the Thistles take on the SA U19 Women, with the Tumi Sekhukhune-led side putting on a dominant 155/4 thanks to Sunette Viljoen-Louw’s 66 off 48 deliveries, including 11 fours and Andrie Steyn’s 57-ball 61 that also featured nine boundaries.

The SA U19’s chase failed to get under way as the rain began to fall during the innings break before the match eventually ended with no result.

No further play was possible for the rest of the day due to the heavy showers and the wet outfield as the remaining matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled.

With less than 75 per cent of the matches played during the week due to the overhead conditions, no winners were crowned for WSL 4.0, with the Starlights ending the competition at the summit of the long standings, followed by the Coronations, the Thistles, and the SA U19 Women respectively.

Luus top-scored in the competition with 123 runs in three innings, including one fifty, while Nadine de Klerk tops the bowling charts six wickets.

Lara Goodall stood out in the field, taking four catches throughout the tournament for the Coronations.
