If it's November 2022, that can only mean one thing - it is Fifa 2022 World Cup time!
But apart from that we have some incredible sport across the board for you this month on SuperSport, so get ready for quite possibly the best 11th month of the year ever on your World of Champions.
Here are all the best bits coming up over the next few weeks...
WTA (from 31 October - 7 November) ATP FINALS (from 13-20 November)
It is that time again when the best men and women slug it out for the prestigious year-end titles.
Iga Swiatek leads the charge at the WTA finals in Fort Worth, Texas, where she will be looking to cap off an outstanding year by adding the Finals title to the eight other titles she won in 2022, which included two Grand Slams at Roland Garros and the US Open. She will be joined by the likes of Africa’s record breaker Ons Jabeur, as well as the youngest finalist since 2005, 18-year-old Coco Gauff.
Carlos Alcaraz will hope to underpin his ascension by becoming only the second player to win the NextGen Finals and the ATP Finals titles in successive seasons. The young Spaniard spent 2022 knocking over records left, right and centre en route to picking up his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open as well as becoming the youngest ever World No 1. The likes of Rafael Nadal, who has never won the year-end showpiece, and defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas have already qualified.
MTN8 FINAL - 5 November
After eight matches, the tournament has reached its climax with AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates set to battle it out for the title at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 5 November.
On the road to the final Pirates eliminated defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns over a two-legged semifinal which they won 3-0 on aggregate.
Usuthu meanwhile will go into this one as underdogs after securing the final spot without winning any of the two legs in the semis, playing out to a 1-1 and 0-0 draw against Kaizer Chiefs to progress via the away goals rule.
SPRINGBOKS - 5, 12, 19, 26 November
The Springboks embark on their toughest tour of the Northern Hemisphere since the start of the professional era. The first fortnight will see them take on the world's top-ranked two teams in Ireland (5 November) and France (12 November).
That will be followed by tests against Italy (19 November) and England (26 November) - and with next year's Rugby World Cup looming large in the background, there will be no let-off in pressure.
PREMIER LEAGUE
As club football heads into a break to make way for the Fifa World Cup this November there are still two more weekends of Premier League football. Manchester City will be looking to dislodge Arsenal from the top of the table ahead of the break.
Mikel Arteta’s charges face a tough task to stay top as they take on their fierce London rivals, Chelsea, and Wolves in their last two matches, while Pep Guardiola’s men have the seemingly easier matches against Fulham and Brentford.
A resurgent Tottenham would look to reignite their title ambitions against Liverpool, who themselves are seeking redemption after a bad run of results in the Premier League. Will it be “Good Ebening” for Aston Villa as they look to find their bounce again under new manager Unai Emery against Manchester United and Brighton?
CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP - 12 November
'Avulekile Amasango' in the inaugural Carling Black Label Cup, which features four teams in one day at the FNB Stadium on 12 November. The MTN8 semifinalists, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs were voted for by the fans and will do battle for the new piece of silverware.
The results were as follows Kaizer Chiefs - 490 376, Orlando Pirates - 354 472, Mamelodi Sundowns -171 717 and AmaZulu - 144 829 which means Sundowns will play AmaZulu in first semi while Chiefs and Pirates face off in the second semi at noon. The final is set for 5pm.
FORMULA 1 - Brazil, 13 November, and Abu Dhabi, 20 November
The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace (Interlagos) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, will host the penultimate race of the 2022 F1 season and although the drivers’ and constructors’ titles have already been decided, there is still plenty at stake for the best of the rest.
With the additional Sprint Race points on offer, the battles between Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc for second in the drivers’ standings could swing dramatically in favour of either man if they get the right results. The battles between Ferrari and Mercedes for second as well as the race to fourth between McLaren and Alpine are as hot as ever and could make for some exciting battles on track.
Of course, Max Verstappen will be looking to extend his record season by taking the tally for most wins in a season to 15. Lewis Hamilton will be out to extend a run of his own by winning a race for the 16th season in succession.
We don’t talk about Abu Dhabi (been done to death!) … unless it is the 2022 edition of course. The 2022 season finale should be bereft of contention but with places in the constructors standings still undecided, the teams will be out to maximise the positions on the final day, which should translate to some action on the track.
The 2022 champion, Verstappen, could be in line to claim his 16th win of the season, if he is successful in Brazil, while the battle for second place in the driver’s championship could still be up for grabs.
T20 WORLD CUP FINAL - 13 November
The eight edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will culminate in the much-anticipated final at the awe-inspiring, 100 000-seater Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, 13 November.
The winner will receive a trophy made of silver and rhodium, designed by Links of London.
Catch the build-up and all the live action on SuperSport Cricket from 9:30am CAT.
FIFA WORLD CUP - from 20 November
The African five-pack of Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Tunisia and Senegal will be looking to better the continent’s showing at the biggest football extravaganza in Qatar, starting on 20 November and ending in glory on 18 December. SuperSport is set to broadcast all 64 matches and boasts a celebrated list of pundits that includes the 2001 Ballon d'Or winner Michael Owen. These matches will also be available on Showmax.
