The Orange Army got an early shock when their hero, Abhishek Sharma, was out first ball as the Sunrisers Hyderabad began their innings in their Tata IPL clash against high-flying Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday night.
Sharma slashed at Jofra Archer’s short-pitched delivery but could only loft the ball to Ravi Bishnoi on the third-man boundary.
But skipper Ishan Kishan led a Sunrisers’ counter-attack, striking the ball beautifully to reach 35 off 20 balls while Head, less fluent, was on 16 in 15 balls as the home team reached 51-1 in the powerplay after Royals won the toss and put them in to bat.
