Rajasthan Royals are top of the Indian Premier League after beating Mumbai Indians by 27 runs in Guwahati on Tuesday night.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star with the bat, crashing an unbeaten 77 off 32 balls from the top of the order as his side bashed 150-3 from their rain-reduced 11 overs, before restricting MI to 123-9 in reply.
An electrical storm gave way to persistent drizzle to initially put the game in serious doubt - and it was no surprise that MI chose to field first after winning the delayed toss.
They were soon wishing they hadn’t when Jaiswal, half of a pyrotechnic partnership with 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, tore into the bowling from the off, bringing up the 50 in just 16 balls.
The sheer audacity of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi 🫡

Even the great Jasprit Bumrah wasn’t safe - twice deposited into the legside stand by the fearless Suryavanshi before the Power Play was done.
The wonderkid departed for a 14-ball 39 when he was caught off Shardul Thakur by Tilak Varma but the damage was already done with 80 on the board at the end of the fifth over.
AND THAT’S HOW YOU START AN 11-OVER CONTEST! 🤩

Dhruv Jurel followed cheaply but captain Riyan Parag’s 20 off 10 gave Jaiswal the time and space to go along his merry way as the Royals compiled an eye-watering target.
MI were always up against it with the bat and lost Ryan Rickelton to Jofra Archer inside the first over.
The South African was joined in the hutch four deliveries later by Suryakumar Yadav, caught in the deep by Archer off the bowling of Nandre Burger.
And when two of your India stars fall for single-figure scores, you’re really up against it.
First Rohit Sharma stone dead LBW to Sandeep Sharma, before in-form Ravi Bishnoi - again introduced as an impact replacement - had captain Hardik Pandya caught comfortably by Jaiswal.
Bishnoi soon had his second with a slippery top-spinner, slogged out to Shimron Hetmyer at deep midwicket by Tilak Varma.
TWO IN THE OVER! 😮

Sherfane Rutherford and Naman Dhir (25 off 13) gave it a good go, but the former’s cameo ended after eight balls when he was caught at short third for 25 off Tushar Deshpande.
Naman’s demise gave Burger his second scalp and he was joined by Sandeep, as Jurel caught his second swirling catch of the night with the gloves to dismiss Shardul.
Archer returned to run out Trent Boult with the first ball of the last over, with all hopes long since gone for those in blue.
