The CSA One-Day Cup match between the DP World Lions and the Dafabet Warriors was abandoned without a ball bowled at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday.
Heavy morning rain left the outfield saturated, and although the rainfall eased for a couple of hours before the scheduled 1:00pm start, persistent drizzle in the afternoon left the ground staff and umpires with no choice but to call an early end with no prospect of play.
The Warriors remain top of the eight-team log with two wins and 10 points from their two matches so far, while the Lions move into second place on eight points from a victory and two ‘no-result’ fixtures.
There was no toss, and no teams were announced.
