The Proteas Women’s maiden home tour against Australia will now take place from 24 March - 18 April 2027 after the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy was confirmed for 14 – 28 February
The historic bilateral tour will include three T20 Internationals (T20Is) on 24, 27, and 30 March in Kimberley, Benoni and Potchefstroom and three one-day internationals (ODIs) on 3, 7, and 10 April in Durban, Paarl and Gqeberha.
The Australian visit will conclude with a one-off Advtech test from 15 - 18 April at the Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium in KuGompo City, which will host a women’s test match for the first time.
The ODI series will form part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2026–2029 qualification journey for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2029.
The first 50-over match will also mark the sixth edition of the Black Day ODI on 3 April at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium in Durban, continuing to raise awareness of the gender-based violence (GBV) crisis in South Africa.
Tickets are available on www.cricket.co.za for all seven internationals.
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki commented:
“Hosting a heralded team like Australia will always be a special occasion, let alone doing so for the first time. We are very appreciative of the work put in by both Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia to ensure the tour’s new dates were confirmed following the scheduling of the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.
“This is an exciting opportunity for fans across South Africa to get behind the Proteas as they take on the defending T20 World Cup champions at seven venues nationwide. The tour builds towards a historic finale in KuGompo City with the first women’s Advtech test between South Africa and Australia on South African soil. It’s a landmark occasion for women’s cricket, and we look forward to seeing supporters fill the stands.”
“Another significant aspect of Australia’s tour to South Africa is the opportunity to deliver our sixth edition of the Black Day ODI, reaffirming our commitment to stopping the scourge of gender-based violence in our beloved country. Having the Aussies involved in this important cause can only help strengthen our message.”
