LIONS v TUSKERS
Johannesburg: Wiaan Mulder produced a performance of the ages to help the DP World Lions defeat the Moothee Ram Tuskers by an innings and 270 runs in their CSA 4-Day Series match at the Wanderers on Wednesday.
Mulder ripped through the Tuskers’ batting line-up on his way to his best bowling figures in an innings of seven wickets for six runs in 6.5 overs.
The visitors, who had won the toss and chose to bat first, crumbled for a meagre 63 runs in their first innings.
The allrounder put his skills with the bat on show with 111-ball 115 in the Lions’ reply. This is his 15th first-class century and he faced 102 deliveries to reach the milestone.
His tally helped the Lions record a total of 558-5d. Mulder was the Lions’ joint-highest scorer alongside Dominic Hendricks, whose 115 came from 170 balls.
Connor Esterhuizen, the Lions’ third centurion, blitzed the fastest first-class century in South Africa with an unbeaten 101 from 58 balls.
Zubayr Hamza (98) and Wandile Makwetu (89) contributed valuable half-centuries to the total.
Mulder picked the ball up again and claimed five wickets for 39 runs in 17 overs as he helped the Lions bowl the Tuskers out for 225 runs in the third innings.
Lions’ spinners Bjorn Fortuin (3-50) and Nqaba Peter (2-42) claimed the other five wickets.
Sean Gilson was the Tuskers’ highest scorer with 57 runs from 99 balls. None of their batters went past 40 runs.

DOLPHINS v WARRIORS
Durban: Matthew Breetzke and JP King registered half-centuries to help the Dafabet Warriors register a competitive total in the third innings of their match against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins at Kingsmead.
The Warriors, who were put in to bat first by the hosts, scored 380 runs in the first innings.
The Dolphins replied with a hard-fought 253.
Breetzke and King’s efforts helped the visitors reach 237-5d in the third innings.
The hosts, who had Semal Pillay (43*) and Slade van Staden (11*) at the crease at stumps, were on 70-1. They need 295 runs to win with nine wickets in hand.
Breetzke finished the innings with an unbeaten 91 from 128 balls. This is his 18th first-class half-century.
The 27-year-old shared a brilliant 154-run fifth-wicket partnership with JP King, who scored his second half-century of the match.
The middle-order batter contributed 84 runs from 101 deliveries.
Eathan Bosch was the pick of the bowlers for the Dolphins with four wickets for 25 runs in 12.5 overs. This is his fifth first-class four-wicket haul.
Tristan Luus, who took a single wicket, was their only other wicket-taker.
BOLAND v DRAGONS
Paarl: Lehan Botha’s maiden first class century helped Goldrush Boland maintain a firm foothold in their match against the Eastvaal Renault Dragons at Boland Park.
The hosts, who were replying to the Dragons’ first innings score of 434, scored 416 runs in the second innings.
The Dragons had compiled 160 runs for two wickets at stumps. They had Lesiba Ngoepe (83*) and Rubin Hermann (16*) at the crease and lead the hosts by 178 runs with eight wickets in hand.
Lehan Botha scored a 189-ball 139. This is his maiden first-class century and he faced 107 deliveries to reach the milestone.
Botha shared a 144-run fifth-wicket partnership with Clyde Reeves-Fortuin, who contributed 66 runs from 132 deliveries.
Caleb Seleka, who finished the innings with six wickets for 99 runs in 36 overs, was the pick of the bowlers for the Dragons.
This is his maiden first-class five-wicket haul. Carl Fryer took a brace of wickets, while Dian Forrester and Ruan de Swart took a wicket each.
Ngoepe led the charge for the Dragons in the third innings with an unbeaten 83 from 109 balls. Diego Rosier was the second-best batter for the visitors with a 76-ball 39.
WESTERN PROVINCE v TITANS
Cape Town: Duan Jansen bagged a five-wicket haul to give the Momentum Multiply Titans a chance to claim victory in their contest against WSB Western Province at Newlands.
The Titans, who won the toss and chose to bowl first, restricted the hosts to 241 runs in the first innings.
They replied with a score of 306, before Western Province scored 228 in the third innings.
The Titans, who had Lesego Senokwane (13*) and Neil Brand (13*) at the crease, were on 33-1 at stumps. They need 131 runs to win with nine wickets in hand.
Jansen bowled brilliantly for his five wickets for 59 runs in 15.4 overs.
The left-arm pacer had support from Simon Harmer, who finished the innings with three wickets for 72 runs, while Lizaad Williams and Junior Dala took a wicket each.
Kyle Simmonds was Western Province’s shining light with the bat in the third innings with an unbeaten 72 from 89 balls.
Joshua van Heerden (48) and Kyle Verreynne (45) were the only batters who went past the 40-run mark.
