South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton and England’s Will Jacks powered Mumbai Indians to 78 without loss in the power play – their second highest of the season – after skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat first in their key Tata IPL clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday night.
It was a start Mumbai desperately needed with the franchise just one rung off the bottom of the log and needing to resurrect their campaign.
Jacks, playing his first match of the season in place of the injured Quinton de Kock, struck five fours and two sixes in his 38 in 18 balls while Rickelton was on 37 in 18 balls including three fours and three sixes.
