The Moothee Ram Tuskers won the toss and chose to bowl first in their CSA One-Day Cup match against the NWU Dragons at Pietermaritzburg Oval on Sunday morning.
The Dragons had an underwhelming campaign last season. Their two wins and five losses earned them a seventh place finish. The Dragons will be keen to improve on that showing this season. A win over the Tuskers will be a great way to get their campaign underway.
However, that task won’t be as easy. The Tuskers, who earned promotion from Division Two at the start of the current season, dominated the lower tier in the format. They carved an undefeated run, winning five of the seven games, while the other two were no-results.
The Pietermaritzburg side finished in last place in both the 4-Day Series and T20 Challenge. They will be hoping for a different outcome in the 50-over format.
