Ferisco Adams took centre stage in Goldrush Boland’s 43-run over the Moothee Ram Tuskers in their CSA One-Day Cup match at Boland Park on Wednesday.
Boland, who won the toss and chose to bat first, scored 224-9 in 50 overs courtesy of Adams’s brilliant half-century.
The all-rounder was also among the wickets as Boland bowled the visitors out for 188 in 44.2 overs.
"We know how important it is to win home games, so I am really happy with this victory," Glenton Stuurman, the Boland captain, shared after the match.
Boland were struggling on 101-5 after 25 overs when Adams walked in to bat.
The hosts, who had a good start thanks to Clyde Reeves-Fortuin (40) and Grant Roelofsen’s (24) 58-run opening stand, looked in danger of being bowled out for a total below the 200-run mark.
Adams dug his heels in and played a watchful game in the first 10 overs of his innings before he put his foot down on the accelerator.
The 36-year-old scored an industrious 76 from 73 deliveries. This is his eighth List A half-century and he faced 62 balls to reach the milestone.
"When I walked out to bat, I said we need a partnership here. I need to be here at the end," Adams, who was named the Player of the Match, revealed.
Adams fittingly lost his wicket while trying to send a Hardus Viljoen delivery over the boundary.

However, Glenton Stuurman was the pick of the bowlers for Boland with four wickets for 31 runs in 6.2 overs.
Yves Kamanzi, who was making his debut for Boland, recorded his best List A bowling figures with three wickets for 35 runs in 10 overs.
Sean Gilson and Michael Erlank top-scored for Tuskers with 34 runs apiece.
Unfortunately, their efforts weren’t of much help to the visitors. Wayne Parnell (32) and Andile Mogakane (20) also got starts but failed to kick on.
