Cricket South Africa (CSA) has today announced a revised schedule for the Proteas Women’s inbound tour against India this summer, set to take place from 9 to 30 December.
The tour will now conclude with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series, kicking off with a Boxing Day clash (26 December) at Willowmoore Park in Benoni, before the remaining two fixtures play out at the NWC Oval in Potchefstroom on 29 and 30 December.
The T20I series will form part of the teams’ preparation for the maiden ICC Women’s Champions Trophy held in Sri Lanka in February next year.
The multi-format tour will get underway with the historic one-off test match at the Dafabet St George’s Park in Gqeberha from 9 to 12 December, before the teams contest the three-match ICC Women's Championship (IWC) one-day international (ODI) series between 16 - 22 December in Paarl, Cape Town and Bloemfontein.
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki commented:
“We are delighted to confirm the revised schedule for India’s tour of South Africa, with the addition of the T20 International series over the festive period, ensuring our Proteas Women have the best possible preparation ahead of the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka early next year.
“India remain one of the strongest teams in world cricket, and the opportunity to compete against them across all three formats will provide invaluable competition as we continue building towards another major ICC event.”
