South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bowl first in the third and final one-day international against Australia at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.
The home side made four changes from the starting XI that clinched the series with a 32-run victory at the Wanderers on Sunday, with test stars Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj and captain Temba Bavuma all rested. The player of the match in the second game, David Miller, is also rested.
Fast bowler Nqobani Mokoena plays his first game of the series, with Duan Jansen also rotated out of the XI.
Australia will be captained by Pat Cummins, who plays his first game of the series, while fellow fast bowler Mitchell Starc returns to the XI after being rested on Sunday. The match is, in fact, only the third ODI Cummins has played since leading his country to the World Cup title in 2023.
South Africa won the first match at Kingsmead in Durban by 67 runs.
