Sunrisers Eastern Cape win toss and bat in qualifier

Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain Tristan Stubbs won the toss and chose to bat first in their SA20 Qualifier match against Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead in Durban on Wednesday evening.

 

The winner advances directly to the final to be played at Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday starting at 3:30pm.

The loser will have a second chance to reach the final when they face the winners of the first Eliminator match between the Paarl Royals and Joburg Super Kings to be played at Centurion on Thursday.

The second Eliminator match, to decide the second finalists, will be played at the Wanderers on Friday.

In the event of bad weather causing a match to be abandoned, the team placed higher on the log will advance.

Sunrisers won both the group matches against the Capitals, prevailing by 48 runs at home in Gqeberha and by 10 wickets at Centurion Park with Quinton de Kock scoring 77 and 79* in the respective matches.
