A galaxy of internationally renowned stars will grace the SuperSport commentary box when the Betway SA20 begins for season two on 10 January 2024.
ICC World Cup-winning former cricketers such as England legend Stuart Broad and Indian great Ravi Shastri are set to offer exclusive expert analysis during the second edition of SA’s premier T20 franchise competition.
Taking place from 10 January until 10 February 2024, the tournament will also mark the return home of English Premier League presenter and anchor, Julia Stuart, as well as journalist Melissa Reddy to cover the popular showpiece.
Other high-profile analysts include SA-born former England master blaster Kevin Pietersen, former Proteas T20 top gun Chris Morris and ex-England international Mark Butcher.
Following the success of the inaugural competition won by Sunrisers Eastern Cape, SuperSport has gone above and beyond to ensure that fans receive an enhanced, informative, and unforgettable experience during the tournament.
2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year nominee and decorated England bowler, Stuart Broad MBE, will share his wealth of knowledge for the game, his natural charisma having made him the toast of cricket punditry since his retirement this year.
The World of Champions will also bring you South African cricket legends AB de Villiers and Shaun Pollock to the small screen when the six-team tournament takes place throughout country.
“We couldn’t be more excited with the line-up that our cricket fans will get to experience during the second Betway SA20 in January,” said SuperSport CEO, Rendani Ramovha.
“When it comes to entertainment, cricketing nous, expertise and unique insight, as well as personality, you’ll struggle to find better charisma and character than among these analysts, both local and international.
“Stuart Broad is one of England’s most decorated cricketers in all formats, as is Ravi Shastri for India. And then you add ‘KP’, AB de Villiers and Shaun Pollock, then you’ve got a thrilling mix of international and South African legends, complemented by a big name in T20 cricket: Chris Morris.
“On-screen favourites such as Julia Stuart and Melissa Reddy will make a special homecoming, too, while we can expect the usual world-class commentary from the likes of ‘Pommie’ Mbangwa.
“Fans at the stadium will be treated to world-class cricket, while those who will be watching the action via DStv Stream or on Premium will get expert analysis from cricketing legends.”
Other firm favourites in the commentary box include Mpumelelo “Pommie” Mbangwa, Mike Haysman, Mark Nicholas and Motshidisi Mohono.
Said Graeme Smith, SA20 commissioner: “We are thrilled with the calibre of commentators and presenters we have on board for season two of Betway SA20. The League understands the importance of having credible voices behind the microphone to tell our story.
“The team we have put together are knowledgeable, passionate and relatable to our diverse SA20 audience, but will also captivate the new audiences we are looking to reach. From legendary ex-players, seasoned experts making a mark both locally and internationally, viewers will be engaged, educated and entertained.”
All games will be broadcast live on SuperSport Cricket, DStv channel 212 with highlights available on DStv Catch Up. All matches will be available in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa commentary.
