A wet outfield has delayed the toss in the first women’s ODI between hosts South Africa and Ireland at Buffalo Park in East London on Saturday.

It’s the first ODI for South Africa since their dramatic run to the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final against hosts and eventual winners India in Mumbai last month. The next world cup is in 2029.

South Africa have already won the first leg of the Irish tour with a 2-0 victory in the three-match T20I series with rain causing the final match to be abandoned without a ball bowled.

The final two matches in the ODI series take place at St George’s Park in Gqeberha on Tuesday and at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Friday.
