Fabio Jakobsen has joined former two-time Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard's Visma-Lease a Bike team, the Dutch outfit announced Friday.
The 29-year-old will also race alongside Belgian Wout van Aert after opting against finishing his contract at Picnic PostNL and agreeing to join Visma until the end of the 2027 season.
"My goal is to get back to the level where I can compete at the highest level again and sprint for victories," said Jakobsen who suffered head injuries in a horrific crash on the Tour of Poland in 2020.
"I believe this is one of the best performance environments in the world," he said.

The Dutch rider returned after surgery and won a stage in the 2022 Tour de France and the road race gold at the European championships that year.
Since joining Picnic PostNL in 2024 Jakobsen has struggled with injuries.
"The team wants to give him the time and structure he needs, with the ultimate goal of seeing him compete for sprint victories again," Visma said in a statement.
