Two-time world time-trial gold medallist Filippo Ganna will join Lidl-Trek from Netcompany Ineos from next season, the German team announced on Tuesday.
Ganna won the world time-trial title in both 2020 and 2021.
He also won stages on the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espana during his eight-year spell with Ineos.
The Italian has also had success on the track, winning gold in the team pursuit at the Tokyo Olympics and six individual pursuit world titles.
The 30-year-old won last year's Across Flanders semi-classic, but is yet to clinch a Monument victory, twice finishing second in the Milan-San Remo.
"After eight years with my current team, opening a new chapter is super nice and I feel great motivation for the season," Ganna said after signing a deal with Lidl-Trek until 2029.
"I have big goals I hope to achieve with Lidl-Trek, particularly in the classics –- with the team we will have, nothing is out of reach.
"The Grand Tours remain an important objective, and I look forward to supporting the team while taking my own chances."
Ganna will join a Lidl-Trek team including Austrian climber Felix Gall, Spaniard Juan Ayuso and 2019 road race world champion Mads Pedersen.
