Bora-hansgrohe's Sam Bennett held on to the overall lead of the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina on Monday as Soudal-Quick Step's Fabio Jakobsen won stage two of the race.
Ireland's Bennett, was fourth in a bunch sprint as 26-year-old Jakobsen from the Netherlands pipped second-placed Fernando Gaviria in second and Jon Aberasturi who was third.
Bennett, 32, won Sunday's opening stage to claim the 60th victory of his career.
This year's race is taking place for the first time since 2020 after the 2021 and 2022 editions were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tuesday's third of seven stages is a 170.9km ride that starts and ends in the motorsports venue of Circuito San Juan Villicum.
