The United States Grand Prix will remain in Austin until 2034 after race organisers on Sunday confirmed that they had signed an eight-year contract extension.

The Circuit of the Americas (COTA), which has hosted the event since 2012 to much acclaim, reached agreement with Liberty Media-owned Formula One on Saturday and will continue to be part of the growing popularity of the sport in the United States.
"We're glad that F1 has found a home in Texas," said COTA chairman Bobby Epstein.
"And we are grateful to the fans, teams and entire F1 community who have supported us consistently and made the US Grand Prix a favourite stop on the calendar."

In a statement, he added: "With this contract, COTA will overtake Watkins Glen as the longest serving F1 track in the United States. Thanks to the great support and a wonderful host city, this has grown to be one of the world's biggest single weekend sporting events – with an unrivalled annual economic impact."
The United States is the venue of three Grands Prix with Austin, Miami and Las Vegas attracting big crowds -– more than 430 000 attended in Texas last year.
