Mashumba ready for Polokwane City debut
Polokwane City are likely to unveil new signing Charlton Mashumba on Sunday when they host Absa Premiership log leaders Bidvest Wits.
The Zimbabwean striker has moved from Jomo Cosmos on a three-year deal as Polokwane look to keep up their strong start to the season.
Mashumba’s arrival comes amid unconfirmed reports that key striker Rodney Ramagalela has been sidelined after seeking to move away from the club.
Mashumba has previously featured in the Absa Premiership for both Cosmos and Highlands Park.
At Cosmos he scored six league goals in the 2015-16 season and the next campaign, on loan at Highlands, he netted three more.
In the National First Division this season, Mashumba has got four more goals.
Polokwane City go into the weekend’s latest round of Absa Premiership fixtures in sixth place, with 26 points from 16 matches. They are seven points behind leaders Wits but with a game in hand.
