Lamontville Golden Arrows’ 3-2 Absa Premiership success over Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday came as a surprise to many, but given their magnificent home form this season, a shock was always on the cards.

Abafana Bes'thende have the best home record of all 16 Premiership clubs this season, with four wins and two draws from their six matches.

Not even runaway league leaders Kaizer Chiefs can match that points haul from their six home games.

Golden Arrows are one of four sides yet to lose at home this season, along with SuperSport United, Orlando Pirates and newly-promoted Stellenbosch FC.

"I said before [the game] that if we can find a way to impose ourselves, and have the discipline to defend we could win… we were very disciplined defensively and we now have the confidence to go forward and score goals," Komphela said.

"It is a great three points for us, it was nervous towards the end. Sundowns, you cannot question their quality, they are a great side. Pitso [Mosimane] and Manqoba [Mngqithi] are doing a great job."

The same two teams will meet again in their next fixture as Golden Arrows again host Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout semifinals on 23 November.
