Chippa United will battle with Black Leopards in an Absa Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 7:30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

The Chilli Boys secured their first league win of the season when they defeated AmaZulu FC 2-0 in their last game.

However, they remain 16th on the league standings - four points behind 15th-placed AmaZulu.

Norman Mapeza, the Chippa coach, says their victory over Usuthu has boosted the team's confidence ahead of their clash with Leopards.

“I have been saying it, it’s all about belief. If you look at our past performances they have been improving," Mapeza said.

"I just said to the boys let's keep believing and let's keep working hard. It will happen. I think this win will boost our confidence."

Meanwhile, Leopards are undefeated in their last two league games after recording a 2-1 win over Cape Town City in their previous match.

As a result, Lidoda Duvha are sitting in 11th spot on the league standings - three points behind fifth-placed Bifvest Wits, who have three games in hand.

Luc Eymael, the Leopards coach, says his charges are brimming with confidence ahead of their encounter with Chippa.

"We knew that if we win, we could move up to position 11 on the table. It's not far from position seven in the league," Eymael said.

"The league is very tight and it's a good boost before we travel to Chippa United for the next game after the Fifa break."
