Pitso Mosimane was delighted with the goal-scoring return of midfielder Temba Zwane as his Mamelodi Sundowns side claimed the bragging rights and three precious Absa Premiership points in a 2-1 Tshwane Derby victory over SuperSport United on Sunday.

Zwane and Thapelo Morena netted in the win, with the former influential throughout as he returned from a one-game suspension.

"Whenever Mshishi [Zwane] is around, he plays the music. You know the story," Mosimane said.

"Look at the midfield. It's more like we have one man or two more people extra in the midfield because of Mshishi's movements. Him, Vila [Sibusiso Vilakazi] and [Gaston] Sirino, they combine well. When these ones are on song, you see the Sundowns play.”

Zwane was suspended as a result of a contentious yellow card picked up against BidVest Wits, which ruled him out of the midweek loss to Orlando Pirates.

"Mshishi is very important to us. We can't talk about why he didn't play against Pirates … it's gone," Mosimane said.

Sundowns trail Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs by seven points with 12 games remaining in the season. Their next league fixture is at home to Chippa United on 15 February.

Before that they have back-to-back Caf Champions League games away against Petro de Luanda (Saturday) and at home to Wydad Casablanca (31 January).
