Strikers have been the driving attacking force for their teams in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) in the current campaign.

We picked the top three marksmen, who have proved their worth thus far:

BRADLEY GROBLER

Matches: 21
Goals: 12
Assists: 2

The experienced frontman remains one of the most natural finishers in the country, having hit the back of the net 12 times for SuperSport United - two behind the league's top goalscorer.

Grobler, who has cemented his place in the Bafana Bafana squad, has also caught the eye with his ability to create goals, grabbing two assists for top three hopefuls, Matsatsantsa.

Kaitano Tembo, the SuperSport coach, is enjoying working with Grobler, whose goalscoring exploits are known to have attracted interest from the biggest football clubs in the country.

“For me as long as I see him out on a SuperSport shirt and he performs the way he is performing, that is what satisfy me," Tembo said.

"Whatever happens will happen and I am always happy to work with him. I am not going to be focusing on whether he goes or not, I do not know what will happen in the future but if it happens then it is football.”

BONGINKOSI NTULI

Matches: 24
Goals: 12
Assists: 0

The prolific marksman has proved his quality as a reliable goalscorer for AmaZulu FC despite the team's struggles in the Absa Premiership as they find themselves in the relegation zone.

Ntuli has impressively netted 12 of Usuthu's 14 goals in the league and he is also in the race for this season's Golden Boot. Many have called for his inclusion in the Bafana Bafana squad.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker has made it known that he is competing for the Golden Boot which is named after the late Lesley Manyathela.

"I have made the decision now to fight for a top goal scorer. I know it won’t be easy because there are players like Gabadinho Mhango and Bradley Grobler who are also scoring but I will fight," Ntuli said.

“I am determined to win the top scorer award this season. But for now, my main concern is the team. We are not in a good position and every game we will be playing will be like a cup final,” added the burly forward."

FRANK MHANGO

Matches: 21
Goals: 14
Assists: 1

The Malawian hitman has been near unstoppable in front of goal this season, having scored 14 times for Orlando Pirates which sees him at the top of the league's goalscoring charts.

Mhango seems to have finally matured into a top-quality striker as he is now taking his chances and his form will be key to the Buccaneers' hopes of clinching this season's league title.

Josef Zinnbauer, the Pirates coach, has been impressed by Mhango's work-rate as the diminutive striker eyes his maiden Absa Premiership Golden Boot award.

“I like it when Gaba scores. For me, it is important to focus on all the players in the team. We have other players that can score. It is important that they focus (and also help Gaba)," Zinnbauer said.

“Mhango works very hard. Gaba runs and fights on the field. He works hard on the field. It is normal in football, we change the players."
