Cape Verde head coach Bubista is hoping his team can take the chances that come their way against Eswatini at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, South Africa on Tuesday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
The Blue Sharks were unable to break the King's Shield down in the home leg of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header, which finished goalless at the Estadio Pele on Friday.
Bubista's side remain two points clear of the Southern Africans in second place and are unbeaten in their last two Group B encounters after recording a 2-0 win over Togo on matchday 2, having lost to Burkina Faso by the same scoreline in the opening round.
Bubista admitted his players struggled to get to grips with the artificial surface in Praia but still felt they could have capitalised on the few opportunities presented to them and hopes the situation will be different in the return leg.
"It was a shame we couldn't materialise the opportunities in goal. Qualifying is always like that," the former Cape Verde international said.
"Adapting to the new grass is not easy, all the players play on natural grass, there was some difficulty, let's say, but I think that even so we had one or another opportunity that we could have scored."
Eswatini will be desperate to get their qualifying campaign up and running after picking up just two points from their opening three matches.
Dominic Kunene's side kicked off proceedings with a 2-2 draw against the Sparrowhawks on June 3 before going down 3-1 to the Stallions four days later, leaving them winless in the qualifiers.
Kunene had to do without his captain, Lindo Mkhonta, as well as Kwakhe Thwala for the clash in Cape Verde after both players were ruled out through suspension but the influential duo will return for Tuesday's tie.
"Both players will be available for selection in the second leg against Cape Verde," the Eswatini Football Association confirmed in a statement.
