Comoros will be looking to keep their faint 2023 Africa Cup of Nations hopes alive when they take on Lesotho at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 4pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
The Coelacanths are third in Group H of qualifying after picking up just three points from their opening four games - a 2-0 victory over the Crocodiles on matchday 1.
With Ivory Coast having qualified automatically for the continental showpiece as hosts, only one team will advance from the group and Zambia are clear favourites to do so.
Younes Zerdouk's side trail the Copper Bullets by six points and need results to go their way this weekend to stand a chance of qualifying for Afcon for only the second time in their history, having reached the round of 16 as newcomers in the 2021 edition.
However, the island nation aren't in the best form after being beaten both home and away by the Elephants in the March qualifiers, which extended their losing streak to four matches following friendly defeats to Tunisia and Burkina Faso in September.
Lesotho are already out of the running for Afcon 2023 as they prop up the group with just one point from their first four encounters - a surprise 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast on matchday 2.
Veselin Jelusic's side suffered back-to-back defeats against Zambia in March to leave them without a win in 11 months, having last tasted victory in July 2022 when they beat Mauritius 2-1 in the Cosafa Cup.
Jelusic is determined to put on a good display at the home of Orlando Pirates in a bid to snap a five-game winless run, although he admits Comoros will pose a tough challenge once more.
"We are preparing for the game against Comoros with the intention of playing a good game and getting a good result," the Serbian tactician said.
"We know that the game will be very tough because Comoros still have a chance to qualify for the next Afcon, depending on the result of the game between Zambia and Ivory Coast.
"In addition, all their players come from European clubs with a high level of quality and competitive experience. But we will fight to the end for the prestige of Lesotho football."
