Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to build on their first DStv Premiership win in four games when they take on TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 3.30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
Amakhosi claimed their first victory of 2023 when they beat Royal AM 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium last Sunday, which halted a run of three consecutive defeats.
The Glamour Boys appeared to be making strides under Arthur Zwane after winning four of their last six matches in 2022 before enduring a mini slump last month.
The triumph over Thwihli Thwahla took Zwane's side above Sekhukhune United into fifth place and they trail arch-rivals Orlando Pirates by just one point.
Chiefs midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange, who came off the bench against Royal AM, admits they need to show the same application in Mbombela to get the better of Galaxy for the first time since June 2021.
"We are ready as a team. We have been preparing well for the game," Nange said. "We are making sure that we are focusing on ourselves a lot.
"Yes, we will watch their videos and come up with a plan. But the most important thing is us and making sure we apply ourselves correctly, then we can manage to get three points again."
The Rockets registered their biggest win of the campaign with a 4-0 thumping of Golden Arrows last Sunday to arrest a five-game winless run.
The four goals did wonders for their morale as Sead Ramovic's team had previously been the league's lowest scorers with just nine, while they closed to within one point of the top eight in 11th spot.
Galaxy defender Given Msimango is hoping the goals will flow now after their struggles in the final third during the opening four months of the season.
"Our next game is a big one against Chiefs at home and we want to continue where we left off against Arrows," Msimango said.
"We are looking to keep the same intensity, the same positive mindset to attack and try to score goals because it can only get better from our last game.
"We won't change much, we will just try to see what the opponents look like and try to adapt and at the same time keep our structure."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
TS Galaxy
Djakaridja Traore: The 24-year-old Ivorian striker will be disappointed not to have got in on the act against Arrows, although he remains the club's top scorer this season with four goals. Traore managed to breach the league's meanest defence with a goal against Mamelodi Sundowns recently but was denied by Sifiso Mlungwana on two occasions last weekend.
Sphiwe Mahlangu: The 27-year-old winger will be keen to kick on now after opening his account for the campaign with a well-taken solo goal against Abafana Bes'thende. Mahlangu earned just his third start last Sunday and he'll be hoping to have done enough to retain his place in the team for the visit of Chiefs.
Kaizer Chiefs
Ashley Du Preez: The 24-year-old winger would have breathed a sigh of relief after doubling Chiefs' lead late on against Royal AM, having missed a glorious opportunity to open the scoring in the 10th minute. Du Preez halted a four-match drought with his third goal of the campaign and will be targeting more this weekend after scoring the winner in the reverse fixture on 19 October.
Yusuf Maart: The 27-year-old midfielder pulled the strings in the middle of the park for Chiefs and nearly provided an assist for Du Preez early on with a Cryuff Turn and delightful long ball over the top. Maart has been an almost ever present for the Glamour Boys this term but he's yet to add to his wonder Soweto derby goal against Orlando Pirates.
