Magesi make new signings ahead of top-flight debut
Newly promoted Magesi FC have unveiled 12 new players ahead of the new 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season, including ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota.
Magesi coach Clinton Larsen had admitted their romp to the Motsepe Foundation Championship title and promotion last season took everyone at the club by surprise, and there is now a scramble on to build a squad able to compete in the top flight.
Sekgota, who was released by Stellenbosch FC midway through last season, joins experienced forward Gift Motupa, once of Baroka FC in the Limpopo province, and ex-Cape Town City back-up goalkeeper Bongani Mpandle.

Former AmaZulu defender Limbikani Mzava makes a return to the South African elite league two seasons after he left Usuthu, with the Malawi international to add experience to the squad.
He also played for Bloemfontein Celtic, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Lamontville Golden Arrows and Highlands Park.
Wonderboy Makhubu will have a second season on loan at the club from Sekhukhune United, while Delano Abrahams looks an excellent signing from University of Pretoria, who Magesi beat to the second-tier title last season.
Other signings include attacking midfielder Menzi Ndwandwe, left wings Jacob Everson and Maloisane Mokhele, right wing Tshepo Kakora, left-back Lebogang Mabotja and centre-back Sello Motsepe.
