Full round of fixtures in the MTN Super League
No team has yet managed a full haul of six points from two games in the MTN Super League this season, but with a full round of nine fixtures this weekend, two clubs can get there.
Nkwazi and Red Arrows won their opening matches and play a second game this weekend, behind most of the league because of matches postponed by their opponents for CAF club competition commitments.
Nkwazi host ZESCO United on Saturday in a huge clash, with the latter having taken four points from their opening two games.
Nkwazi last won at home against ZESCO in 2020, but over the years it has been fairly close. The latter leads the head-to-head 9-7 with a further nine draws from the last 25 league meetings.
Red Arrows go to current table-toppers Forest Rangers on Sunday for another titanic clash. Rangers also have four points from their first two games for a solid start to the campaign.
Three of the last four meetings between these sides have finished 1-1, including the previous two. Rangers have not won any of the last five clashes, with two Arrows wins in there as well.
Champions Power Dynamos started their season with a 0-0 draw at Prison Leopards and now go to promoted Konkola Blades, who have one point from two games. The last four meetings between these sides have been won by the home team, with two victories each.
Nkana FC currently prop up the division after a pair of losses in their opening two games and they go to Green Eagles, who have started with two draws. And a draw is the most common result between these two of late, with 10 in the previous 25 meetings.
Mufulira Wanderers have started well on their return to the Super League with four points and welcome Kabwe Warriors, while MUZA FC host promoted Mutondo Stars, who also have four points.
NAPSA Stars have started the campaign with a pair of losses and will seek to end their run against Kansanshi Dynamos. Trident host Zanaco, while Green Buffaloes go to Prison Leopards.
