Maritzburg United have appointed of John Maduka as their new head coach, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
He takes over from Ernst Middendorp who was fired last week for the fourth time after he steered the club to a 12th-placed DStv Premiership finish in the recently completed season.
Maduka did well last season after guiding Royal AM to a third place finish in what was their first season in top flight football.
Royal AM were in contention for a Caf Champions League spot for much of last season, before a late slump led to them having to settle for third place.
Maduka's departure from Royal AM came as somewhat of a surprise considering how well he had done with the club last season.
