Diski Challenge to kick-off with derby sizzler

The Premier Soccer League has released fixtures for the 2023/24 DStv Diski Challenge.

This will be the 10th year of the PSL Reserve league. The season will kick off with a festival at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in KwaMhlanga on the weekend of 9 -10 September 2023.

The opening weekend will see a sizzler of six local derbies from the KwaZulu-Natal derby up to the Western Cape derby.

Mamelodi Sundowns against defending champions SuperSport United will kick off the season on Saturday morning [10:00 am].

The second match of the festival will see Moroka Swallows take on hosts TS Galaxy [3 pm].

On Sunday, Sekhukhune United will welcome Polokwane City back in the Diski Challenge in the opening match. A Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will close the weekend matches at 3 pm.

After coming close to clinching the Diski Challenge title in the past two seasons, Pirates will be hoping for a third time luck this season.

In other matches, Cape Town Spurs who' are also making their return to the Diski Challenge will face rivals Cape Town City FC in their opening fixture.

The Citizens are another team that had one of their best campaigns last season, finishing third. They would be hoping to take it a step further this season.
