Jansen inspires rampant Chiefs to five-star performance
Kaizer Chiefs coasted to a 5-1 victory to register their first victory of the season in the DStv Diski Challenge at the expense of AmaZulu on Sunday.
Having started the season with a 1-1 draw against rivals Orlando Pirates last weekend, Amakhosi went to Durban and continued with their dominance over Usuthu.
In their last five meetings, Chiefs have defeated AmaZulu four times and drew once. The performance against Usuthu was a glimpse of what to expect from the experienced Chiefs squad gave a glimpse of what to expect from them this season.
Puso Dithejane, Siphesihle Tati, Wandile Duba, Donay Jansen and Omega Mdaka were all on the scoresheet for Amakhosi. Yanga Mjoli scored Usuthu’s consolation goal.
Chiefs midfielder Donay Jansen continued with his sterling performance and he looks to be the man who would lead Amakhosi this season.
Already training with the first team, Jansen continued with his fine performance, netting his second goal of the season in two matches.
The victory saw Amakhosi moving to the third spot in the log with four points from two matches.
They are two points behind log leaders Royal AM who maintained unbeaten run with a 2-0 victory over Moroka Swallows.
Sekhukhune United are second with six points also. They maintained their winning record with a 1-0 victory over Diski Challenge Defending champions SuperSport United.
