Chiefs to face Sundowns in Diski Shield semis

Kaizer Chiefs were drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Diski Shield semifinals which are set to take place next Saturday.

The draw was made just after Amakhosi thumped SuperSport United 4-2 at Wits Stadium on Saturday.Chippa United who eliminated TS Galaxy will face reigning League champions Stellenbosch.

Chiefs booked their place in the DStv Diski Shield semi-finals with a 4-2 win over SuperSport United on Sunday.Wandile Duba bagged a brace while Aden McCarthy and Puso Dithejane got the other goals for the Soweto giants.SuperSport got their goals courtesy of a brace from Tendamudzimu Matodzi.

Early on the day, Stellenbosch brushed aside Maritzburg United 2-1.

The Western Cape outfit raced into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Roy-Keane Avontuur and Mervin Boji.Siphesihle Ngcobo pulled one goal back for the Team of Choice at the hour mark, but Stellies held on to claim the victory.Saturday:

Orlando Pirates 1-2 Mamelodi Sundowns

Sundowns defeated Orlando Pirates 2-1 to book their place in the last four.

The two sides played to a goalless draw in the first half. In the second half, Sundowns upped their tempo and Cassius Mailula opened the scoring in the 58th minute before he completed his brace in 71 minutes.

Pirates got their consolation via an own goal in second-half stoppage time.

TS Galaxy 0-1 Chippa United

Chippa United captain Aviwe Mqokozo scored the only goal of the match which to earn The Chilli Boys a place in the last four.

The semifinals will take place next weekend, the venue and time are yet to be confirmed.
