The Dstv Champ of Champs kicks off on Youth Day, 16 June, at the KwaMahlobo grounds in Meadowlands zone 10, Soweto. All games will be broadcast live on SuperSport.

In the opening game of the day Vaal Monate FC take on Chego 17 FC at 11am. The Evaton-based side used to play every Sunday when it was first established. The name Beke Le Beke was chosen because they played every weekend and would be happy, no matter the result. Their opponents are a side from Mamelodi. They came into existence in 2012 and since then, the club has been participating in different tournaments around Gauteng.

Some of the players who have played for the club include Khuliso Mudau, King Ndlovu, Tumelo Bodibe and Phetso Maphanga. All these players have played their football in the DSTV Premiership.

Game two will see Free Agents FC up against AT Mambas FC at 1pm. The Agents were formed in 2018 by team owner Olaitan Oladeru and part of the reason to establish the club was to give professional players who were out of contract an opportunity to remain active in the game.

Players such as Ayo Oluwafemi and Ugo Igidimgba have played at a professional level in the PSL but are now part of this team going into the competition. The team has players from different parts of the continent such as Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo and Cameroon.

Mambas FC are well known on social media for the videos of players showing off their skills in kasi tournaments. One of the players who has played for Mambas in the past is Tshediso Patjie, who is currently on the books of DSTV Premiership club Sekhukhune United.

Tshepo ‘Skhwama’ Matete, is a co-founder, who also serves as a player. The club was formed with the aim of giving opportunities to players to showcase their talent.

The last game of the day will see La Masia FC take on Ambassadors FC at 3pm. The name La Masia is derived from Barcelona's youth team, which has produced so many players over the years.

Like Barcelona, the group of people who established La Masia in Westbury started the club with the aim of giving players from the community a chance to shine and showcase themselves to scouts around the Gauteng province.

Some of the players who have previously played for the club include Tlotlo Leepile, Yusuf Maart, Ryan de Jongh and Genino Palace. All these players currently play their football in the DStv Premier Soccer League. In 2017, Kaizer Chiefs winger Keagan Dolly played for La Masia in the Discovery Walter Sisulu Games, where the club famously wore the Barcelona kit.

Ambassadors are nicknamed the ‘Cheeze Bois’. Well known in the township for playing with some of the most talented players, Ambassadors is a club owned and managed by Ambassadors Sports Management, a player agency.

The agency have 20 players on their books and a lot of them are playing their football in the ABC Motsepe League, as they look to eventually make their way up to the GladAfrica Championship and DSTV Premiership. Some of the players who have played for Ambassadors are Pule Maraisane and Musawenkosi Mdluli, who are both current Mamelodi Sundowns players.
