Phaphama FC, Soweto Super United crowned DStv eKasi champs
Soweto Super United were crowned the DStv eKasi Champion of Champs Plate winners after they beat Black Poison of Orlando East in a kasi football derby. United ran away 3-1 winners after 90 minutes of play. This was a repeat of a group stages match that ended in a draw as both sides played 2-2, two Sundays ago
Black Poison known coached by Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokoena, ‘who was bright and early for the midday kick-off failed to really get on terms with the attacks coming from SSU. At halftime, it was 2-1 to the team in red. United added to their tally in the second half and went on to win the game by a 3-1 margin. The game had many youngsters watch with interest at the Dobsonville stadium. SSU walked away with the prize money of R75 000.
Next up was the Cup final between Swidi Wodwa and Phaphama in a game that kicked off at 3 pm. Winners of this match were expected to go home with R250 000 prize money. Swidi were off to a good start after having scored in the 15th minute of the game to the delight of their fans and should have gone on to wrap the encounter in the first half but missed a flurry of chances.

It was 1-0 at halftime, Tebogo Malefatse scored an own goal to set up an anxious last 30 minutes. It was end-to-end stuff as both sides searched in vain for the winning goal. It was 1-1 at the final whistle which meant that a penalty shootout was needed to determine the eventual winners of this year's competition.
Phaphama FC managed to convert 4 of their five penalties, while Swidi only managed to score only two spot kicks, as they missed two others.
The surprise package from Mpumalanga won 4-2 at the end of the shootout and bagged themselves a trophy and the prize money. Many of their fans that had travelled joined in the dance and celebrations that followed after the game had been won.
