The DStv eKasi Champ of Champs got off to a flying start with three matches producing five goals on Thursday.
Beke le Beke came from behind to beat Chego 2-1 in the tournament's opening match with quickfire goals from Prince Diniso and Eddie Sikalane.Kagiso Mabusela opened the tournament floodgates in the fifth minute for CHEGO 17 and the game looked like it was settled until Beke turned on the style with Diniso's goal in the 53rd minute and Sikalane's two minutes later.
The win takes Beke le Beke to the top of Group 1 ahead of the second round of matches on Friday.
In one of the matches that had everyone on the edge of their seats, Free Agents and A.T Mambas played to a goalless draw.
The match was littered with some enterprising ball artistry from Tshepo Matete the man they call Blackberry who even got cautioned by the referee much to the discontent of the fans.
Surprisingly, the match ended goalless with strikers from both teams fluffing good chances meaning the two teams are tied on a point each ahead of their respective matches on Friday.
In the final game of the day, La Masia turned on the style to beat Ambassadors 2-0 in a tightly contested affair with goals from Jose Garcia and Tshepo Matsimela.
The win sent La Masia top of Group 2 with Chipolopolo and Vaal Monate to play tomorrow.
