Richards Bay will face off with a winless SuperSport United side in a DStv Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 7:30 pm CAT (SA, GMT+2).

The Natal Rich Boys were brought down to earth when they suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday with Kaizer Chiefs securing a 1-0 win over the PSL debutants.

Therefore, the KwaZulu-Natal side is placed fifth on the DStv Premiership standings with seven points from four matches and they will move back into the top two spots if they beat SuperSport and other results go their way.

Sifiso Dladla, the Richards Bay coach, reflected on their game against Chiefs in which they played against 10 players after Yusuf Maart's dismissal and he indicated that he was proud of his charges.

“We were cautious in attack because sometimes they would leave maybe three players not defending so that they catch you on the transition- counter-attack from defence to attack so this is why we were also cautious in attack," Dladla said.

“But I also believe that we created not so many chances but at least two clear-cut chances to get the goals. I’m proud of my boys, I think we are moving ahead as a team."

Meanwhile, SuperSport remain winless in the DStv Premiership this season having held Orlando Pirates to a 0-0 draw on Sunday and it was their fourth match in the current campaign.

As a result, Matsatsantsa are placed 14th on the league standings with two points from four matches and they will be looking to move further away from the relegation zone by claiming a win in Durban.

Gavin Hunt, the SperSport head coach, called for patience following their clash with Pirates and he explained that they are building a team with youthful players.

"There’s a little bit of what I'm trying to get into the team it takes a little bit of time, we've got a lot of young players, look at the last couple of years, all the players are gone," Hunt said.

"So we need to build a new team, it takes a little bit of time and maybe a little bit of patience and I thought tonight was a good honest performance, one or two good chances, which is only what you gonna get in these type of games."

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Richards Bay

Abel Mabaso: The experienced utility player will be celebrating his call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad having impressed in the colours of Richards Bay this season. Mabaso will be keen to play a vital role in helping his side overcome Matsatsantsa.

Sanele Barnes: The pacey attacker's explosive speed unsettled the Chiefs defence which led to Maart's dismissal after he was fouled and he has one assist in the current season. Barnes will be looking to use his speed to torment the SuperSport defence.

SuperSport United

Thapelo Maseko: The teenage attacker, who has special crossing and shooting abilities, is one of the most exciting players in the DStv Premiership having scored against AmaZulu. Maseko's ability on the ball is likely to create problems for Richards Bay.

Bradley Grobler: The former Bafana Bafana international came close to scoring with a header against Pirates after connecting with Maseko's sublime cross from the left. Grobler has the ability to single-handedly inspire Matsatsantsa to a win over the Natal Rich Boys.
