AmaZulu goalkeeper Neil Boshoff has spoken of his “huge respect” for Ayanda Dlamini, who has been elevated from former teammate to head coach at the Durban side.

Dlamini lead Usuthu on a caretaker basis at the end of last season and managed to help them avoid relegation. He has subsequently been rewarded with the job on a permanent basis, much to the delight of Boshoff

“I really enjoy working with coach Ayanda,” the keeper told the club’s website. “Because when I initially arrived at AmaZulu, coach Ayanda was still playing here at that time and he was a great inspiration to me.

“So, I have a huge amount of respect for him. I have also worked under him when I was playing MDC [MultiChoice Diski Challenge] and enjoyed myself there.

“I really respect him as a coach and a person, so looking forward to working with him more this coming season.”

The 24-year-old Boshoff played 10 times in the last DStv Premiership campaign, sharing the No 1 jersey with the more experienced Siyabonga Mbatha.
