SuperSport United will go head to head with Orlando Pirates in Saturday's DStv Premiership match at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Kick-off is at 5:45 pm CAT.
CURRENT FORM
Matsatsantsa made it two wins in a row when they emerged as 2-1 winners over Libya's Al Hilal Benghazi in the CAF Confederation Cup at home on 20 December.
SuperSport are occupying the second spot on the DStv Premiership standings - seven points behind leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns and a win over Pirates would boost their title ambitions.
Meanwhile, Pirates have hit form having secured their third win in a row in the league when they edged out Golden Arrows 2-1 away on 17 December.
The Buccaneers find themselves placed third on the DStv Premiership standings - a point behind second-placed SuperSport and a win for Bucs would boost the Soweto giants' title hopes.
TEAM NEWS
Washington Arubi was sent off during SuperSport's clash against Al Hilal Benghazi, but the Zimbabwean goalkeeper will be available for selection against Pirates.
Pirates, on the other hand, will be without Patrick Maswanganyi who is suspended, while Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako and Azola Matrose remain out injured.
WHAT WAS SAID?
SuperSport United striker Bradley Grobler
"We went through a stage where we were not picking up results and that did drop the mood in the team. Now we come at the back of two important wins to turn that corner," Grobler said.
"At the moment we are struggling with a few injuries but everyone is looking forward to the game. It was very important to pick up the two wins because when we look at where we want to finish in the league, this is a big opportunity.
"Pirates are obviously a very difficult team to play but they are a team that we are competing with for positions in the league and it is a game that we have to go and give it our all and get as many points as we can out of it."
Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro
“I’m happy with the performances. The results we cannot control. Today I thought we played an excellent game," Riveiro said.
"But what would have happened if they [Arrows] scored in the last minute of added time? The result is still the same. So the consistency must be in the performances and the intention, and then we try to control the results as well as possible.
"We should have finished the last 15 minutes with maybe a two or three-goal advantage and not really under stress. But it’s a scoring game, it’s 2-1 and we’ll take it. But the most important for me is the performance.”
SuperSport United: PLAYERS TO WATCH
Grant Margeman: The diminutive midfielder is the heartbeat of SuperSport's midfield having provided two assists in the league this season and he will be looking to stamp his authority in the middle of the park.
Godspower Ighodaro: The in-form striker has netted in each of his last two matches against Moroka Swallows and Al Hilal Benghazi. Ighodaro will be keen to inspire Matsatsantsa to a third successive win.
Orlando Pirates: PLAYERS TO WATCH
Deon Hotto: The Namibia international has been consistent for Pirates and he is the team's set-piece specialist having netted a stunning free-kick against TS Galaxy, and he could be key to Bucs' win over SuperSport.
Karim Kimvuidi: The dreadlocked playmaker produced a Man of the Match performance against Arrows having scored his first-ever goal in SA football. Kimvuidi will be eager to replicate the same form against Matsatsantsa.
