TS Galaxy finally found their scoring boots as they recorded their biggest win of the season with a 4-0 thumping of Golden Arrows at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
First-half goals from Orebotse Mongae (29') and Bernard Parker (44') put the Rockets in the driver's seat at the break, with Sphiwe Mahlangu (56') extending their lead early in the second half before Nkosikhona Radebe (84') completed the rout late on.
Sead Ramovic's side claimed their first victory in five DStv Premiership outings to go level with Abafana Bes'thende on 22 points but leapfrogged them into 10th position.
Galaxy were looking to arrest a six-match winless run at home, while Arrows sought back-to-back wins for only the second time in the season after beating Marumo Gallants 3-2 last time out.
The visitors made a bright start and threatened twice in the opening stages, with Pule Mmodi sending a header straight at Vasilije Kolak from Nduduzo Sibiya's first-minute cross before Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo tested the Bosnian goalkeeper from inside the area on six minutes.
The woodwork then came to their rescue on 19 minutes when Sifiso Mlungwana failed to hold onto the ball and Sphiwe Mahlangu could only hit the post from close range with the goal gaping.
Ntsako Makhubela nearly broke the deadlock midway through the first half with a strike from inside the box that flew narrowly wide of the right post but it was the hosts that drew first blood just before the half-hour mark as Mongae mopped up inside the box after Mlungwana spilt Djakaridja Traore initial shot.
Abafana Bes'thende did well to restrict the Rockets for the remainder of the first half but they lost concentration at a crucial moment to allow Parker space outside the box on 44 minutes and he duly obliged to fire into the bottom right corner of the net to double Galaxy's' lead.
Arrows attempted to get back into the contest after the restart as Ryan Moon got off a shot from inside the box that Kolak had to tip over the crossbar on 52 minutes, although they fell further behind four minutes later when Mahlangu latched onto a free-kick and buried his shot beyond Mlungwana.
The third goal took the fight out of the Durban outfit and they offered no further threat before conceding again four minutes from time as Radebe slotted home from inside the area after being picked out by Mlungisi Mbunjana to seal the win.
