With a place in next season's CAF Champions League within reach, Orlando Pirates look to add three more points to their PSL total on Saturday at FNB Stadium (Soccer City) against Kaizer Chiefs, who are within striking distance of a spot in next season's CAF Confederation Cup.

Orlando Pirates are in third place on 31 points, two points behind second-placed SuperSport United who currently hold a spot in the CAF Champions League.

Fourth-placed Richards Bay, the first club outside of the CAF Confederation Cup spot, are level on points with Orlando Pirates.

Kaizer Chiefs are placed fifth on 28 points, three points behind Pirates for a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Orlando Pirates defeated Maritzburg United 2-1 at home in their last PSL match. Kaizer Chiefs lost their last PSL match 3-2 at home against Golden Arrows.

The previous PSL fixture between the clubs saw Kaizer Chiefs come out on top 1-0 at Orlando Stadium in October. Yusuf Maart scored the lone goal for Kaizer Chiefs in the 74th minute.

Kaizer Chiefs have got the better of Pirates of late with wins in four straight clashes, dating to March 2021. Kaizer Chiefs have outscored Orlando Pirates 6-2 during their winning streak.

Monnapule Saleng has been the most prolific player for Pirates, netting on five occasions, including four match-opening goals.

The attacking prowess of Bonfils Bimenyimana has been important for Kaizer Chiefs this season. The striker is the team's leading scorer with seven goals, which is tied for the third highest in the league in 2022/2023, two of which have been the crucial first of the match.

Hosts Kaizer Chiefs have four wins, two draws, and four losses this season in 10 PSL contests on home soil. Pirates have three wins, two draws, and four losses away from home this season in league matches.

In their last six league matches, Kaizer Chiefs have won one, drawn one and lost four. Pirates, meanwhile, have won four and lost two in their last six.
