Cape Town City bounced back to winning ways in the DStv Premiership when they edged out Sekhukhune United 2-1 at the DHL Stadium on Saturday evening.

The narrow victory took the Citizens to sixth place on the league standings - extending their unbeaten run to four matches in the process - while Babina Noko slipped down to the ninth spot on the table.
The Citizens got off to the perfect start as they broke the deadlock as early as the second minute. Craig Martin hit the back of the net to hand City a 1-0 lead after Khanyiso Mayo's effort was parried away by goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata.
However, Babina Noko responded by pressing the hosts and they managed to level matters through their inspirational captain Ysusf Maart. The Bafana Bafana midfielder beat keeper Hugo Marques to make it 1-1 in the 18th minute.
The momentum was with the Citizens with the half-time break approaching and they did restore their lead. Having been involved in the build-up to the opening goal, Mayo scored with a curling shot in the 42nd minute and City were leading 2-1 at the interval.
The two teams continued to attack each other after the restart with Sekhukhune coach MacDonald Makhubedu having introduced Nigerian hitman Chibuike Ohizu, who is Babina Noko's top scorer this season with seven goals.
The Citizens had a chance to extend their lead after Mayo had set up Thabo Nodada on the edge of the visitors' box. However, the City captain placed his effort over the crossbar without troubling Nsabata in the Sekhukhune's goal-posts.
The hosts were then able to contain Sekhukhune in the dying minutes of the encounter and in the end the Citizens secured a 2-1 victory on the night.
