Cape Town City have confirmed a contract extension for veteran midfielder Mpho Makola, keeping the player at the club until the end of the 2022-23 season.
That will take the former Bafana Bafana player past his 37th birthday, but with CAF Champions League football to look forward to next season, his experience could be vital.
He reached the Champions League final with Orlando Pirates in 2013, as well as the CAF Confederation Cup decider two years later.
He has made 40 starts and 41 substitute appearances since arriving at City three years ago, but has twice been suspended for shoving match officials in that time too.
Makola spent seven seasons at Orlando Pirates having joined from Free State Stars, where he made his topflight debut in 2008/09.
